Our story
The personalized gift
stopped being personal.
Somewhere along the way, “made for you” became a template with your name dropped in. We started Love Tales to give couples something that actually sounds like them — their real story, written and illustrated as the fairytale they already are to each other.
How it started
It began with a gift problem.
Marving wanted to give his girlfriend something personal — something that actually said her, not a mug with a date on it. Every “personalized” gift site produced the same thing: one template, a different name dropped in. So he did what product builders do. He prototyped one himself, using AI to turn their real story into an illustrated book.
The prototype worked too well to keep to himself. Around the same time, he met Clotilde in a product management course. She saw the same gap from the brand and customer side — the entire personalized-gifts category had quietly stopped being personal.
“Real stories, from real couples — illustrated as the fairytale they already are to each other.”
They co-founded Love Tales to fix exactly that. Two years in, that idea has become a growing library of love stories that don't sound like anyone else's — the night someone missed the last train, the inside joke nobody else would get, the small thing only the two of them would notice.
The chapters so far
From one book to a whole shelf.
One book, made by hand.
Frustrated by template gift sites, Marving builds a single illustrated book from his and his girlfriend's real story. It lands harder than any gift he'd given. The idea won't let go.
What we believe
Three things we won't compromise on.
Specific beats generic.
“The night you missed the last train” beats “your special memory” every time. The details are the whole gift — the inside joke, the exact way you met, the small thing only you'd notice.
A keepsake, not a transaction.
We treat the product like a gift you're making, not something you're buying. Premium hardcover, written to be re-read. The kind of thing that stays on a shelf for years — not in a drawer.
Technology that preserves.
Our AI is built to keep the specific way real couples talk about each other — not flatten it into something that could be anyone. The magic should feel like writing, never like a form.
The two of us
Made by two people who met over a love story.
A small team, on purpose. We read the stories. We answer the emails. We care how every book turns out.

Full-stack engineer and product builder — previously shipped web and mobile work for Desjardins, 7shifts, Intrado, and Crakmedia. He leads product, engineering, and the AI pipeline that turns a couple's answers into illustrated chapters and characters. Writes about how technology can preserve — not flatten — the specific way real couples talk about each other.

Leads brand, content, and customer experience. She turns thousands of real couples' love stories into the personalized, illustrated books Love Tales is known for — and is endlessly curious about how couples express affection across cultures, life stages, and milestones. If your book turned out just right, there's a good chance Clo had a hand in it.
“I gave it to him at dinner. He read three chapters at the table — quiet, then crying, then quiet again. The waiter brought tissues.”
