We want you to love your book. If something isn't right, here's everything you need to know about our refund policy — what's covered, what isn't, and how to submit a request.

Our 14-Day Money-Back Guarantee

Every purchase comes with a 14-day money-back guarantee, giving you time to review your book before committing.

To be eligible, your request must meet all of the following:

If any of these conditions aren't met, the purchase is no longer eligible for a refund.

What's Not Eligible

A few situations fall outside the guarantee — it's worth understanding these before you reach out.

Books that have gone to print

Once you validate your book and approve it for printing, it enters production immediately. Because every book is custom-made with your photos and story, it can't be reprinted, returned, or resold. This is why we ask you to take your time in the editing phase before giving final approval.

If you spot a mistake after validating, email support@lovetales.ai right away — we'll do everything we can to catch it before production begins.

PDFs that have been downloaded

Once the final PDF has been exported, the digital product has been delivered. Downloaded PDFs are not eligible for a refund.

Requests after 14 days

After the 14-day window, purchases are no longer covered under the guarantee, regardless of credit usage.

Subsequent orders

The money-back guarantee applies once per customer. Repeat orders are not covered.

AI Illustrations and Refunds

AI-generated illustrations are artistic interpretations of your photos — not photo-realistic replicas. Variations in likeness, style, and scene details are a natural part of how AI art works, similar to a portrait painting rather than a photograph.

Because of this, style variations alone are not grounds for a refund.

That said, you're never left without options. Every book comes with 20 free regeneration credits specifically so you can refine illustrations you're not happy with. You can also edit all text freely, with no limits.

How to Request a Refund

Step 1 — Confirm you're eligible

Run through the eligibility checklist above before submitting. If all five conditions are met, you qualify.

Step 2 — Email us

Send a request to support@lovetales.ai using the subject line:

Refund Request - Order #[Your Order Number]

Include in your email:

• Your full name
• Email address used at purchase
• Date of purchase
• Brief reason for the request
• Confirmation that you've used fewer than 8 credits and haven't exported the PDF

Step 3 — Wait for our response

Our team reviews requests and responds within 3–5 business days.

Step 4 — Receive your refund

If approved, refunds are returned to your original payment method within 5–10 business days, depending on your card issuer.

Approved

• "I ordered yesterday but entered the wrong anniversary date and haven't used any credits yet." — Within 14 days, zero credits used. ✓
• "I purchased 5 days ago and only used 4 credits. I've decided to wait and give the book on a different occasion." — Within 14 days, under 8 credits. ✓
• "I bought digital today but immediately realized I meant to buy hardcover." — Same day, no usage. ✓

Not approved

• "I ordered 3 weeks ago and don't like how the illustrations turned out." — Past the 14-day window. ✗
• "I used 10 regeneration credits and still don't love the result." — Exceeded the credit threshold. ✗
• "My printed book arrived but the characters don't look exactly like us." — Printed books are non-refundable; AI art variations are expected. ✗
• "I downloaded the PDF but changed my mind." — PDF has been delivered. ✗
• "I got a refund on a previous order and want one for this one." — One refund per customer. ✗

Not Eligible but Still Unhappy?

If you don't qualify for a refund but something still feels off, here's what we'd suggest:

• Use your remaining credits — You may still have regeneration credits to improve specific illustrations
• Edit your text freely — There's no limit on text changes
• Reach out to us — Email support@lovetales.ai and describe what's not working. We may be able to help

Book Arrived Damaged?

A damaged book is a different situation entirely — and we'll make it right.

If your physical book arrives damaged or with a printing defect:

1. Take photos of the damage and the packaging
2. Email support@lovetales.ai within 7 days of delivery
3. We'll send a replacement at no cost
